SMALLab - Projectile Flight Game

Projectile Flight Game follows the Projectile Flight Graph where students play a cooperative game that directly addresses the trajectory misconceptions. Students are able to overcome ingrained ideas about forces and acceleration by working in pairs to launch virtual projectiles at a target.

Like with Projectile Flight Graph, students use a swinging gesture to “strike” a virtual ball towards the target. Multiple gravitational fields can be configured with the capability of comparing the behavior of virtual objects on different planets. Two players apply what they learned in Projectile Flight Graph regarding the impact of gravity, starting height, and starting vertical velocity on the flight of projectiles in a timed game setting.
