Polygoner is a scenario for open-ended geometry inquiry. Students collaborate to construct polygons from line segments. Line segments display their lengths (in meters) as they are moved about the space. Students annotate segments as parallel, congruent, and/or perpendicular. In this way, students explore the attributes of the constructed polygons.
Once constructed, students assign shape labels to illustrate the ways that many polygons share the same attributes. The scenario can be set to display triangle or quadrilateral shape labels.
